Gateway to the Pacific: Our Logistic Experience in Canada

As the world’s second-largest country by land area, Canada plays a key role in global trade. Economic activity is concentrated around major metropolitan regions such as Toronto, Montréal, and Vancouver—each serving as a vital link in Canada’s import and export network.

Toronto (Ontario) is the nation’s financial powerhouse, leading in banking, finance, and technology. Montréal (Quebec) stands out for its strengths in industry, aerospace, and pharmaceuticals, while Vancouver (British Columbia) acts as the country’s Pacific gateway, connecting Canada to Asian markets through its world-class port infrastructure.

For exports from Türkiye, Vancouver serves as a strategic destination. Depending on the project needs, shipments are arranged via air or sea freight. Turkish Airlines offers the fastest transit with direct wide-body flights, whereas sea freight provides significant cost efficiency for high-volume cargo.

In one of our recent projects, we shipped 7 x 40’ containers from Ambarlı Port to Vancouver using a combined sea–rail route:
Ambarlı → Salerno → St. John → Vancouver.

This service achieved an average transit time of 42 days, including port handling and rail transfer.

Upon arrival, customs clearance was coordinated through ARCOGLOBAL US LLC’s Canada branch ensuring a smooth handover from port to warehouse and finally to the project site.

A key compliance point for Canada export is the e-manifest submission, which must be filed by the customs broker at least 48 hours before arrival to avoid penalties or delays.

Our experience in Vancouver demonstrates the importance of route optimization, timing, and local coordination in managing long-distance logistics effectively and cost-efficiently.
